Presley heard some second year yelling about welcoming firsties, and glanced over in annoyance. If Ravenclaw was for the intelligent, what was that girl doing there? And shouting. And calling herself "we the OLDER students"? Presley looked away, as if the girl was a bug she couldn't be bothered with. Welcoming was up to the teachers, the prefects, and the people the little buggers sat next to at the feast.

But she couldnt be mean. Not to Presley's cousin. The girl was LUCKY! "Mine was pretty lousy, actually, Pres," she said with a sigh. She swiveled to face her. "I didn't see my father once after he picked me up from the train station. He didn't even say goodbye." She felt for talking about family in front of the girl...since, well, she, too, was having family problems.
Her eyes flickered to Awar before final settling back on Pres. "Your cousin...she's a puffer." Way to state the obvious...
Presley frowned. In all of her worry about herself she hadn't given Elliot time to talk about her summer, which was just as bad. She mentally berated herslef, and promised to pay better attention in the future.
"Was he on business, or simply avoiding you?" Presley asked bluntly. Because if he'd been in the Morganzo Manor, and hadn't seen Elliot once, that was a lot worse than going on a business trip to Africa and not seeing her once, though both were pretty lousy.
Presley nodded seriously.
"I know. My grandparents are going to be furious. But they usually listen to me. Hufflepuffs are bad, but she's my cousin Elliot. What else am I supposed to do?" With having only one sibling, who was so much older than her, cousins were practically siblings to Presley. Especially now that her brother had turned her away.
