And I don't want that!" For a second, Presley's eyes held a hint of compassion for her young cousin, but then they hardened again. "I have to get back to the Ravenclaw table. Try to make friends who aren't entirely idiotic. Understand?"

Because anybody who knew anything about the Black family knew that Presley cared about Awarlesta, and all she was doing was keeping the girl from getting hurt by them. Because if Presley could say in a letter that she'd thoroughly chewed Awar out already, they would leave her alone. If she couldn't, they'd do much worse to the girl. Disown her, and ruin her in society forever. She turned on her heel and marched away from the table.
