If that didn't count as caring then he didn't know what else would. Quinn was just talking without any real evidence or clue and that's what wore his patience out.
"You really don't know what you're saying, Quinn," Phabian said, slowly, shaking his head. His hand gripped his wand tighter. If it wasn't for Beverly in his arms, there'd be spells flying all over the place by now. Oh, so now he was the idiot. "Mistakes happen," and then he smirked, "your mother should know since she made four of them." And yes, he was implying that all her children were that, along with marrying Audric. Ciara could have been great, if only she hadn't grown so...so weak.
Did this guy ever shut his trap? Phabian found himself tuning him out as Beverly settled her head on the crook of his neck and her small hands cling to him. It was her that was keeping him grounded and Quinn should feel fortunate of that.
Then Audric Quinn joined them. Of course, Phabian had not expected anything less from this man. He, unlike his wife, seemed a better fit parent...from his son's point of view. And then he started blabbing away just like his son. He felt Beverly's evened out breath tickle his neck. Ah, she was sleeping. "Audric, nice seeing you," he said, not really meaning it. He still had manners. Phabian then glanced around and shrugged his shoulder. "If someone ever dared hurt my children I wouldn't worry about the public." Nope, but then that was him. He wasn't the docile type when it came to his blood. Plus, he was just trying to get to Audric, it was and most likely will always be one of Phabian's favorite pass time. Hector eyed Audric as he appeared. Just like his brother, he had a special dislike for him. Anyway, he wasn't greeted and Phabian made sure to point out manners. At least, the Jones brothers didn't forget etiquette in times of boring old drama. Unlike Phabian, Hector wasn't going to greet anyone. In fact, the tip of his fingers itched a whole lot more and it was becoming difficult to ignore his craving for a duel.
So the public was the only thing holding Audric back? Heh. Fool. Hector went to stand next to his brother, his arms at either side of his and ready for anything. "If your afraid of an audience we could always move this to a more comfortable location," he smirked at Audric. Oh yes, that was a challenge.
He could feel Yvonne's gaze on him. She knew if Phabian and him were to duel, Xavier would be affected by this in so many ways he couldn't control. It was his back up plan. Hector had not come here unprepared. Yvonne has never seen Krys this angry. Sure, at one point she imagined it to be hot, but right now all she wanted to do was to comfort him, but it was impossible at this moment.
Then her uncle Hector said something that caused her eyes to snap toward him. He wanted to duel? Did he know what that meant? Of course, he did and she knew why he was doing this. "No," she said, shaking her head at him. "No...just no. No dueling." There was no way she was going to allow that.
Kennedy rubbed his forehead. This was getting WAY out of control and it was giving him a huge headache. He took a step back...then another...and another. He needed to get away before he blew up and either yelled or sided with someone. There were so many questions he needed to ask his father, yet he couldn't stand the man right now.
He slowly retreated and mixed into the crowd. He needed some time to cool down and standing here with a bunch of crazy adults wasn't going to help. Krys could see that he was getting to Wayne... and he was enjoying it in some way. "On the contrary, I know exactly what I'm saying." And part of him was doing it just to rile him up. He wanted an excuse to duel this man. He wanted to hurt him in some way... But he knew, really, that this was not a wise choice... he just couldn't help it.
He glared at Hector. If there was going to be dueling he wanted in on it. He was about to declare this when Yvonne spoke. No dueling. He glanced at her... he wanted to ignore it, to disobey her, but he couldn't. He just couldn't. So he shut his mouth.
Four mistakes... did that mean..? Did Phabian know about the child..? The one his dad had been yelling about? He eyed the man, about to say something but then Kennedy was walking off, "Get on the train..." he said as the kid young man passed him. "And... have a good year." Nice seeing you. "Now now, Phabian, there's no point adding more lies to this mess." Audric said, still retaining his calm. He was well aware that Phabian Wayne had never liked him, or even entertained the idea of allowing himself to tolerate him. He shrugged off Phabian's attempt to rile him. "And that, Wayne, is where we differ." He wondered if his unfaltering calm attitude would annoy the man... hopefully. "It seems I've always been the better man." He smirked and ran his free hand through his hair. "Or would you rather I tried to duel you now? With your daughter in your arms?" That was what he seemed to be implying... though it was something Audric would never do.
And then Hector spoke. Honestly, these brothers were... Audric couldn't think of the right word. The only one he'd ever got along with was Xavier... "It's not the audience I'm worried about, Hector." he said. "I, unlike either of you, have spent my life working to protect and save innocent people. And I'm not about to undo it." As for the other location. Audric wanted to say yes... he really did... he wanted to take both of the brothers somewhere to duel... but that would just be idiotic. And Audric Quinn was not an idiot. "I really don't think it's me you're going to have to worry about." And then Yvonne spoke. "The lady has spoken." Audric's wand disappeared back into its holster and he put his thumbs loosely in his pockets. Go on, attack an unarmed man, I dare you. The train was here. Thank Merlin. "Come on 'Rora. Get your stuff." Rowan said, searching in his pockets for something. "Here." He passed her the calming draught and walked next to her as they crossed the platform to the train. He lifted her trunk on for her and passed up the owl cage and cat basket. "Listen to me, 'Rora." He put his hands on his shoulders. "We will fix this. Don't worry. When you come back for Christmas and your brother's wedding it'll be all over." Hopefully. Rowan hated Phabian Wayne... it was a dislike that stemmed from Hogwarts... and it wasn't leaving soon.
Aurora allowed herself to be guided towards the train, draining the calming draught when it was given to her. She glanced over to where the others were stood, chewing her lip nervously. Kryspin was angry... but her dad was there. So it couldn't get too bad could it? No. "Uncle Ro..." But she didn't know what to say. She took the animals from him and rested them just inside the door of the train before hugging him tight. "Tell Krys and dad that I'll write as soon as I get there." And she took her stuff to a compartment. She knew she had to stay out of sight of Wayne at least until the train had left. Urgh she was ANGRY now... the calming draught had stopped her panicking but it seemed the panic was only hiding this... Why did he have to come and ruin this? Why did he have to turn up and just... urgh. Once he had seen that Aurora was safely on the train, Seraphinus motioned for Ignata to wait where she was and walked over to the conflict. "Everything alright?" He asked as he was joined by Rowan. "The kids are on the train now," Well, he hoped Kennedy was. "So I think we should all leave." ANY OBJECTIONS?
