Melanie boarded the train with a grin on her face. She was finally going to Hogwarts! Right, she was supposed to meet Landon somewhere. She opened her bag and pulled out a blanket she had brought with her. Because it might get cold... and she might want to take a nap. Plus, it just felt cozy. Melanie laid the blanket on her lap and looked out the window. Hogwarts was just a train ride and a few hours away... that was how long it took to get there, right...? A few hours? Melanie wasn't sure if she could sit still for that long! Cardigan decided to go up towards the front this year. She always kept towards the back, seeing she would want to read her magazines and eat all her candy without anyone badgering her for some. She wasn't much of a sharer. Maybe that's why she was sorted into Slytherin! That and because her whole entire family, mum and dad's side, was Slytherin through and through. Definitely. That HAD to be it. Why else would she be in the house? She was a pretty nice person. I bet, that of you walk up to someone in Hogwarts and ask if Cardigan Johansson of Slytherin is a nice person, they will either say "yes" or "who is she?"! Well, except for, ahem, some people. But it was really only one person, so why bother?!
Looks like she was early this time. Usually, whenever she got on, there were hordes of people crammed in the hallways and she had to fight her way to a car! It was like a Zoo!! No one has fun when the Lions and the Aligators have escaped. She walked down the aisle, sticking her head in each compartment. Nope, nope, nope. And nope.
Where is everyone?! she thought, sticking her head into another compartment, expecting to find yet another unoccupied compartment. Instead, two girls were in there who looked to be about in their fourth year. Wasn't one of them Alice Fisher? She didn't know for sure.
"Mind if I join you two?", she asked, backing up from the compartment just a hair. Wouldn't want to make a bad first impression, being all the way up in their faces.
