So she awkwardly played with her hair a little bit before saying slowly,"Well...I just realized something...."

She pouted her lower lip saying,"This is your last time going back to Hogwarts.." Violet then suddenly wrapped her arms around him, saying frantically,"I am NOT happy about this Mr. Gert! It makes me very upset and distraught that I will not be seeing you next year! It breaks my heart! This is not alright!"

Oh...that was the reason.

And then suddenly she threw her arms around him and hugged him tight while speaking her thoughts outloud and admitting her feelings over his iminentfuture departure. "Aye...it is sad," Gideon admitted in his own agreement. "But I'm far from gone yet. Still have one more year of me, Violet. No sadness yet...please." The seventh year wasn't sure he could handle it yet.

When they boy spoke up she nearly sighed in relief. "Thank you!" she couldn't emphasize her gratitude enough for him saying that there would be no hitting...that really made things better.

"Hopefully she listens to you because I don't think I did anything slap worthy." She said, eyeing the redhead momentarily, hoping she got the point. Violence was never the answer unless she was the one resorting to it and seeing as these kids could all have easily taken her--especially scary bat girl she was sure that this situation could do well without it.

Then he said there would be no tying up either. She couldn't help but smile. This guy seemed to be saying all the right things to get her out of the kind of punishment that only deranged people thought up.

Tugging on her hair absently for a moment, she turned her violet gaze to meet the new girl when she spoke again. What was her name? Gwenivere? Kurumi should probably have introduced herself by now anyway, seeing as they had been standing next to each other for quite some time now talking, but first things first. "As tempting as that idea sounds..." she said with a small laugh. OH! Hey! Kurumi had actually managed to catch on to sarcasm this time. She was joking, right?

Only she never finished her sentence because Selina was back on the hitting idea. "Selina...you do that and I'll never bake you red velvet cookies again." There. Done. Hopefully. Selina was sort of insane right now, more so than usual, so it was hard to tell.

And then Selina was back on the Beater's bat...and all Kurumi could muster right now was a muffled sigh and a slight eyeroll in Gideon's direction. And Lewis thought Kurumi's obsession with dragons was a bit intense and potentially unhealthy?

It was clear his calm words offered some comfort to the young girl, the boy nodding at her words of thanks. "Yer welcome," Gideon said as he watched her, glancing sideways at his girlfriend as Selina was mentioned. "Oh I think she will," he mused absently thinking on what could be done to stop her if she went to do something wrong. Though when Kurumi spoke up about taking away the cookies, he had to bite the inside of his cheek to keep from chuckling.

Way to go Kurumi!

He caught his fellow prefect's look his way and gathered the meaning behind it as best he could. The chaser returning it with a look of understand. Yep...Selina was potential very nuts, but they put up with her all the same. Even when it sometimes appeared they were a glutton for punishment like today trying to keep her from getting too far out of control.

SPOILER!!: Selina and Genevieve

Everyone on this bloody platform would agree that this first years were being one-hundred percent insane. So if they kept it up what was the harm in a little violence. In fact, violence in moderation built character and these kids seemed like they needed some character kicked into them. Alas, there would be no Mortimer this time around to help assist her in the process. Good ol' faithful was stolen from her.

But she did seem to hear what Kurumi had threatened when the violence continued to float in the conversation. No red velvet cookies? The color nearly drained from the girl's entire face. Those were the most delicious cookies that Merlin had ever put on this good earth. What had she done to deserve such a sever and harsh punishment. Her blue eyes shot open in shock as she attempted to reason with her extremiest best friend, "N-no cookies? What kind of inhuman person are you? I haven't done ANYTHING to spurn such hatred from you." This was the straw that broke the camels back. First Mortimer, now this. The redhead was in serious need of a tissue.

Her piercing blue eyes were slightly kissed with tears when Genevieve spoke again. Puling herself and her emotions together to the best of her ability, she digested the idea of a reward. That was actually a brilliant idea. Most people did not respond to fear beyond just getting afraid- although Selina was very touched by the compliment that Genevieve payed her about the chimera- so an award would give people a push. The more that she thought about this whole idea, the more that she was starting to truly entertain it as a reality.

She wiped her ear and looked expectantly at the older student, "You, erm, really think that the whole reward thing would work?" Then she turned around and looked at Gideon and Kurumi, "I like her. She's rational. This is a woman who KNOWS how to find a beater bat." Which was such a hard skill to come by these days.

That took guts.

"Try to make it to Hogwarts without getting in trouble. Bet you... 3 chocolate frogs you can't do it."

And the bossy Gryffindor who had yet to introduce herself, who was clearly friends with Selina and yet couldn't seem to manage her intelligently, seemed to be loosening up a bit. There was ALMOST a smile. That was something.

Who threatened with cookies, anyway? Betty Crocker?

Oh, Merlin. There was crying. Genevieve glanced around with enormous eyes, willing SOMEONE to step in and make this nonsense stop. There was no crying in Quidditch, and certainly not in bat kidnapping, and definitely NOT in cookie-related threats.

"I absolutely do think a reward will work. How much are you willing to offer?" And look at that. She'd made herself a sort-of-friend on her very first day. Hard to believe anyone found Genevieve's rationality to be her most notable quality. "Call me Sherlock and tell me about how it went missing, then."

Kurumi's threat certainly worked though, the reaction she got from Selina was priceless and Gideon moved closer to the redhead as he noticed the moisture in her eyes. His own stomach sinking hating to see her soo upset. Okay so he wasn't heartless and knew this was hurting her deep.

He shrugged at the question about the reward, not really sure what help it would serve. But anything was better then just having Selina worry over it, and making a fool of herself in the process. And Selina certainly seemed to go with it...and Genevieve in general so maybe it was a good thing. "Maybe it wouldn't hurt," Gideon replied offering some agreement though what type of reward was another question entirely.
