The seventeen year old turned his full attention on his father and watched him closely. He wouldn't dare do anything right now, would he? No, he wouldn't. Beverly was here and her presence always seems to hold him back. Then again, Kennedy never knew his father was capable of killing someone.
A sudden memory attacked Kennedy as his father's eyes bored on him. It was of him passing the barrier and seeing Aurora walk off. Oh crud. "He knows...he knows she's here," he whispered to Yvonne and Kryspin. Yvonne huffed at Phabian. Really? they knew it was him who sent Victoria to their flat. Her aunt would never just drop by to visit. The woman was all about organization and timing to do that. "Stop with your lying, Wayne," Yvonne said, irritated. She was sure everything he's ever said was a lie, though it still sort of stung because she had looked up to him at one point in her life.
She noticed his wand hand move and pulled Kennedy behind her. Even if they kid thought he could take his own father, he couldn't. Phabian was a much older and experienced wizard than he was. He knew his family would know about potions, Ciara at least, but that didn't bother him. At the end there was nothing he could be blamed for because everything incriminated his wife. "My wife enjoys toying with potions. I wouldn't doubt if she had been under the influence of one." Which she had been, and it had been under the influence of one of his newest inventions. He wouldn't say that out loud, though. Phabian didn't want to give them any proof worthy memory because he would NOT end up in Azkaban because of them.
"Oh, really?" he said, tauntingly. Where was Ciara anyway? "Where is Darling Ciara at, then? Great mother she is," he sneered. He would have expected much more of her, really.
Phabian shrugged. He's never been the kind to express his intentions. He preferred to see their surprised expressions instead.
Then he turned to face the trio, an almost proud glint in his eyes at Kennedy. His boy was clever and he needed him on his side. But there would be time for that later. He directed his gaze into the direction Kennedy's memory led him to just in time to see Aurora hide. "She should really learn how to hide better. She's worse than a Hufflepuff," he said, waving his wand lazily in her direction, but not doing anything just yet. Yes, Aurora. Phabian Wayne know you'r hiding behind that pillar. Krys nodded, he knew that Wayne knew Aurora was here. It was a long shot trying to convince the man she'd actually gone to Austria... but anything was worth a try. "I'm pretty sure there's more evidence than necessary to send you down in some way, Wayne." he snarled, wanting nothing more than to curse the man to pulp. "And believe me, I will find it."
And then the man insulted her mother... urgh. No, Krys was not a fan of his mother in the slightest, but Wayne had no right... "At least she's been there for us our entire lives. No matter what scandal we have caused." Yes, he had brought up Kennedy. Too much? Maybe... But Krys didn't care. The man had almost - inadvertently, but that's not the point - killed the one woman he truly loved. And he had tried to kill his sister. But then... She'd been watching. Oh yes... she'd been around for her daughter as much as possible lately. Hidden. And at that last comment she slipped silently behind Wayne and pointed her wand at him, letting the point of it touch his back but keeping the sight of it covered with her body. "Maybe she'll learn from her mother." she said, in reply to his comment about Hufflepuffs... "You know... you really should be more careful, Phabian." she muttered in his ear. "You've known me for thirty six years, do you really think I'd leave my daughter without my guard in this sort of situation?"
Ciara smirked to herself as the disillusionment charm faded away, "And you don't cover your tracks as much as you think." Oh she had tons of evidence to incriminate him. And the right amount of friends and money to keep herself free. "You're outnumbered, Wayne. I... brought a couple of friends." she whispered. "It was very foolish of you to engineer such an attack on my children... and think it would go unanswered." |
