He kissed her quickly to distract her and looked over to Aurora again... was that her? Hmm... yeah. She was so conspicuous... Which was a blessing and a curse he supposed.
...
But it seemed it was a curse right now. Kryspin's wand shot to his hand the minute he saw Wayne's figure coming through the barrier and he had cast a silent charm in his sister's direction. Her hair would be dark brown now, inconspicuous. He turned back as Phabian approached them and conjured a string of daisy's to rest on Yvonne's head. He whispered in her ear as he put it on her, "Okay, I think you're better enough for this now, my love." Yep, she was better enough to stop Wayne from trying anything stupid...
Then he stood in front of the man. "What the hell do you think you're doing here?" he said, his wand still in his hand, resting lightly at his side. "You think you can try and kill my sister and get away with it?" Merlin, Aurora don't look now. "Luckily, she's in Austria." he added with a glare. Seriously, if this guy moved an inch he would... urgh he didn't know. "A notebook on..." thinks fast, Escalante, "on useful spells," Kennedy finished, tucking the small notebook away. He wasn't sure if Yvonne knew of this wicked cool book, so Kennedy wasn't sharing information on it. Heh.
Kennedy's head then jerked toward that cold voice he's grown familiar to, but he so, very briefly glanced at Aurora's direction. He wasn't sure if she should stay where she was or hide behind Krys. He wasn't completely familiar with his father's intentions, so he didn't know what to expect from him.
He moved to stand next to Yvonne. Ever since she got hurt, Kennedy has become a whole lot more protective of his cousin. It didn't matter if she was an Auror, he was still going to protect her. Yvonne smiled up at Krys and was about to ask something else when he succeeded in distracting her with that kiss. Hmm. He always did that. Meh. What could be so important about that notebook anyway.
And just like that her mood changed as Phabian appeared.
Yvonne refrained from following Krys' gaze and instead followed along to whatever her fiance was up to. She grinned the type of grin that meant she was more than ready. Yvonne tapped the string of daisies and kissed his cheek. "Always have, my love." She was always ready, injured or not.
Then Krys was all riled up and she knew he had a reason to be, but they were in public. The last thing she wanted was for an outright duel to break out with children around. Yvonne took hold of Kryspin's free hand and squeezed it. This was not the time nor place to infuriate her uncle. "It's just the family," she responded. "So, if you'll excuse us, we have to get Kennedy ready to board the train." She made to step forward, but Phabian was already standing there with Beverly. That was strange, the child should have heard Krys accuse her father of murder. Hmm. The Muffliato spell most likely. Aha!
Phabian's eyes never quite left his son. They studied him to see his reaction, but it was the direction his eyes went that Phabian followed, not only that, but being a Legilimens always helped. So, that's where she was. Phabian didn't hide where he was looking at, he wanted Quinn to see that he knew his bratty sister was here. Right, like he'd believe she was in Austria. She'd be too much of an easy target if that was it.
He ignored whatever lovey dovey thing Quinn and his niece were up to. It was utterly sickening. He then glanced down at his daughter and grinned at her as she grinned up at him. He had cast the Muffliato spell around her. Phabian wasn't intending on Beverly knowing his doings...ever.
Phabian then looked up, meeting Quinn with an un-amused grin and stepped in front of them as Yvonne tried to excuse the lot. "I did no such thing. Might I remind you that it was my wife that went loopy and visited you at your flat," he said. "Though," he lowered his voice, a dark look flooding his expression, "your mother will pay for interfering with my son." And that was a promise. His wand flew to his hand as he pulled Beverly closer to him as he glanced in Aurora's direction.
