Gideon briefly wondered if she was going to do it...go through the barrier first on her own. He had almost decided to lead her but then had opted to have her go first. Because what if she had been all talk and chickened out in the end? He would be on the other side and have to go back to assist her or she'd have to wait for someone else to help.

But in the end she handled it well enough, pushing her belongings and herself through the barrier with no trouble. With that said and done, the prefect figured it about time he went through himself. So after making sure his stuff was still secure and grabbing ahold of the handle of his cart, he turned it a bit better so he was lined up properly before following Miss Branxton to the other side.
