She had waited on a girl not too long ago who had a ferret in her bag. He could easily have a wombat under his shirt!

"I mean, sorry. You have a wombat?" A pet wombat. A pet wombat who acted like a dog! She wanted a pet wombat! But first, she was going to have to help the guy, right? Right.

Moving down the line of toys, and still keeping her eyes on the man in case the wombat showed itself, Destiny picked out a few of the most popular dog toys. A few balls. A few tug-of-war ropes. Some blue rubber thing that kind of looked like a snowman. "It's not a small dog, is it?" Because then she would have to start all over again.

She should have asked that first.
