"Really? Elise? Elise....Fairfield?" Beezus inquired further. She knew her! She was a fellow Ravenclaw. "I didn't know you two were close." For her to stay in their house. Yet she was glad. Erin having many friends now and her likewise meant a larger circle of friends! Hold uuuupppp. NEW HOME? "New home?" she repeated with a confused look. "You moved to another place?" Why didn't she know anything about this?! Pfft. That's what you get for ignoring each other Beezus. Yes, that's what you get.
"Err..Snack Bar? Honestly, I haven't had a decent meal since summer started...My Grandmother cooks the weirdest food...last night we had this......" and she continued ranting about her Grandmother's exotic choice of meals as she gently dragged Erin to the Snack Bar.
And...they were so ON! As soon as Erin saw the bowling lane, Merlin's Beard, the snack bar plan, ALL FORGOTTEN.
Looking at Beezus' sneakers again, she saw the pouting which indicates offended!Beezus.
"I like heels. I like flats. I like sneakers too, but believe me, sneakers are meant for shorts and denims, that's just in my own opinion. I love you for whoever you are bestfriend," Erin reassured Beezus. So, are they good now? Are they? Hehe.
Elise Fairfield.
"Well, it all started in my second year rebel days. You know I don't really get along well during those days with Tina, my sister, you know her right? I met Enya and then I met Elise. And things happened. We got closer when you drifted away or I. Or..." she took a glance at Beezus. What would she say? Ack! That's a very sensitive topic but she promised her bestfriend that everything will be revealed today.
"..er, I mean, we got really close in our third term. And she has nowhere to go during the summer so I invited her in." She needed help. Badly needed help.
Yes, Erin had a new home.
"I did. I have. Well, to make it clear, I didn't only got a new home. I got a new life. A new family." That came sooner as expected. And she wouldn't cry. Of course, she wouldn't. She loved her family. She loved everything about them. Every little details.
"Can we move it for later? The snack?" Erin asked Beezus pleading. She badly wanted to play. Those Shrunken heads, awww! Beautifully crafted creatures.
"Let's play first, please, please, please." "But I like her cooking," Erin complained while Beezus was talking about her grandmother's weird thoughts of food delicacies. The memories of her summer with Beezus' family echoed in her head.
