A new behind-the-scenes clip from
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, which will be featured exclusively on the
Harry Potter Wizard's Collection definitive set, has been released online, focusing on the visual effects created to bring Quidditch to life in the second installment in the series.
Director Chris Columbus explained how the creative team had more time to work on the special effects for Quidditch compared to the first film, and some on-set shots with Daniel Radcliffe and Tom Felton as Harry and Draco, respectively, playing Quidditch on broomsticks is featured throughout.
The
Harry Potter Wizard's Collection will contain 37 hours of special features in 31 DVDs, Blu-rays, and Ultraviolet discs, and will be available for purchase in early September.
Chris Columbus: The visual effects in the first film were done towards the end of shooting. So we didn't have enough time to really get them to where we wanted them to be.
In the second film I wanted the visual effects to be much better than the first, so what we did is we shot those sequences first. It really enabled us to spend five, six extra months on Quidditch.
