Opening his mouth to say something, he hesitated and closed it again. Maybe not.

Thankfully, Layla broke the silence. "No, it's fine. Really. They're fine." They were fine before so they could deal. Placing the top back on the box, he gestured to the back of the shop. "Would you like to see them? They're just in the back."

Layla frowned."Okay it's fine, but why be fine when they can be better?" They had moved in together for a reason hadn't they? And no she probably wasn't going to drop this but for the mean time he had managed to distract her when he asked if she'd like to see the dogs. Really that was rhetorical right? She missed them so much.

She smiled and nodded." Yeah I've missed them..a lot." She glanced at him then at the door in the back.
