Besides he had plenty of time to practice. She gave him a smile as she walked off.
Several of the students were taking advantage of the tank Issy had provided for them, which was pleasing to see. And so far none of them had sunk. Which was even better. Although Kurumi looked a little nervous moving away from the edge. "You all right, Miss Hollingberry?" she called, nodding at her and hoping for some kind of thumbs up.
"Sorry, Sarah, what were you saying?" Isabelle had caught the tail end of the question, but could work out the general gist of it. "Water does rot wood after a certain amount of time, but as you say we're not using them for long. If you were you would need to treat them, as muggles do, or place spells on them to make them perfect."
Clapping her hands, Issy stepped forward and waved towards those that were in the tank to get their attention as well. Making sure she was in a place they could all see her, she began to speak. "Now, I know some you would wish to carry on with the current spell, but I'm going to fill you all in on the one for the paddle. It is the coracle spell you will be repeating over and over for the game later, so this is slightly less important for that. But I expect you all to take it just as seriously."
Placing another stick on the ground, Isabelle flexed her arms and pointed her wand at it. "Ta-lea!" She drew a horizontal line in the air, finished with a little loop at the end. The small stick began to stretch in length and width, one end of it becoming broader and flatter than the rest. Once completed a paddle was in it's place. "See? The wand movement is a line and loop, as if you are drawing the shape of a spoon in the air." That made sense right? They could visualise a spoon. Well, as long as they didn't create one.
"If there are no questions, you can go ahead and try this spell too. Or carry on for a while to get your coracle just right." Issy smiled and stowed her wand back in it's holster. She was done with it for now.
OOC: Again, I'll be off to bed soon, so please make sure you read all IC instructions and follow them. Next post in about 15 hours or so.
Alyssa quickly looked up when Professor Magnus clapped her hands to get everyone's attention. When she told everyone that they would be using the "Vegrand-IS Nav-IS" spell again during the duration of the game, she made it a point to repeat it over and over in her head, just to remind herself.
Then she watched as the Professor showed them how to conjure the paddle. The incantation was,"Ta-Lea" and that the wand movements were a horizontal line ending in a loop, like drawing a spoon. Then she watched as the spell was cast and the stick was transformed into a paddle.
Now was practice time. Alyssa first practiced the words to the spell, repeating it over and over again until she was familiar with it. "
Ta-Lea...Ta-Lea...Ta-Lea...Ta-Lea."
Then she practiced the wand movements. Taking out her wand, she drew a horizontal line ending with a loop at the end. Horizontal line and a loop at the end.
Now it was time for her to see whether she could put both spell and wand movement together and conjure up the paddle. Like she had done with the Coracle, she first studied the shape of the paddle that the Professor had conjured up until she had the image of the paddle in her mind.
When she felt that she was ready, Alyssa placed the stick on the ground in front of her, cleared her mind of all thought except for the spell and what her intent was. Taking out her wand, she drew a horizontal line ending in a loop at the end and said,"
Ta-Lea"...and then waited.
