As he was playfully chastising her for the pouty whine, she went into puppy dog eyes. He watched as her eyes grew in size and she feigned innocence. Just as quickly though as she had done that, he saw the rise of color in her cheeks. Ian wasn't sure what exactly had caused her to blush, but it did make her look very cute.
He laughed as he saw her tongue poke out from her lips after he told her she was being unfair. It was pretty fun being with Ella, Ian thought to himself. He felt the closeness as they shared the rung and the feeling of triumph he experienced after she had said his idea was brilliant was short lived. As soon as the words were spoke to him, he felt the world fall out from underneath him. He felt himself falling and by instinct, he reached out and pulled her close to his body so that his body would take the impact of the fall. Just as they were about to hit the ground, he felt a force pushing up against them and they land gently on the ground below the slide. He looked up to see the ladder to the slide had disappeared. He checked to see if Ella was ok. He let her go and asked, "Are you ok?"
Eh. So the puppy dog eyes didn't exactly work to her advantage. Ella decided she would have to ask little Blue for proper instructions since Theodore was no longer speaking to her. She figured she only had a little time left to capitalize on the skill so she might as well master it as soon as possible.
Ian's laughter made Ella smile and she placed her tongue back into her mouth, nudging him gently with her shoulder. The second year was having a great time and found that she was incredibly glad Ian had decided to return to school. She wanted to tell him so, that she was happy he had returned, when suddenly she was falling. Well no, actually
they were falling as Ian had pulled her quite close to him. She didn't really have time to wrap her mind around this though as she was too worried about them hitting the ground.
Bracing herself for impact, Ella closed her eyes tightly and held her breath. Only the hard landing she had envisioned never came. Instead it was as if they had been cradled by something, a charm placed on the equipment perhaps? All she knew was that she was relieved they hadn't been hurt. Opening her eyes slowly, the blonde felt Ian's arms let her go and she met his eyes with her green ones.
"I-well I think so...you?" She found that she was then checking her friend for any visible cuts or bruises but none could be found. Few!
"Boy Ian, you sure do fall a lot when I'm around..." She teased, sitting up slowly and crossing her legs in front of her.
"What do you think happened though?...I mean seriously." Cause Ella was curious, nothing like that had ever happened to her before.
