Rex laughed and picked up a wedge of lemon. "Well, I've been doing this job for a long time, and not all of my time has been spent in England." He squeezed it over his fish to lessen the malt vinegar taste. "I worked for five years in New Zealand. Beautiful country. Then I spent ten years in America before my cousin begged me to come back home and run the department for her. This fall will mark my tenth year at the Ministry, and it's amazing how time flies. All of that adds up to twenty five years of Ministry experience."

He put the lemon down and picked up his fork. "I wish they were serving mushy peas today with the roast beef," he said and took a bite of fried fish.
