"Well my owl came back today from delivering a letter and well it's wing was badly hurt, see Professor." Laura held out the box with the owl in. "Lyssie did the splinter thingy-thing didn't you Lyssie." Laura smiled at her friend. William didn't hear exactly what that whisper was but knowing Laura, it wasn't something good. His eyes narrowed, the professor tried hard not to blink. Blinking would only make the girl cry for real, right? Girls were like bears?
Anyway. "Do you have any enemies outside the castle, Laura?" he took the box from her and lifted the lid to peek at the injured owl. Aww, she didn't look too bad. He was concerned with what had attacked the owl, though, as they were usually intelligent enough to avoid injury.
Usually. There were some exceptionally dull owls out there, though, and he wouldn't be surprised if Laura was the owner of one. Quote:

Then Alyssa remembered what she was here for. Laura's Owl. She gulped when Laura told him, that she was the one that had placed the splint on the Owl's wing. She was now wishing that she hadn't. What if she had just made it worse?
"Uh...erm...yes I cast the Ferula spell on its wing. That was the only thing I could think of to stabilize it before allowing the owl to be moved again." Alyssa confessed. 'Oh please don't let that have been the wrong decision.' Alyssa thought to herself. He looked to Alyssa next and nodded at her mention of the split. "That was the right thing to do, Alyssa, good work. It looks good." The owl was already on her way to healing, or so it seemed at first glance.
"And thanks for your concern," he added after a moment of thought. "How long ago did this injury occur, girls?" Quote:

SHe hoped the professor wasn't thinking she was a crazy person for being half muddy. He didn't really have much to say to this one, guessing she was just there for moral support, and went back to peeking in the box at the owl. The mud went mostly unnoticed. Quote:

Nerida felt quite stupid as she had never thought of the idea...Hmm maybe she would think about it when summer came. She glared over at her cat as the Professor nuzzled it why was Sky not acting bad now? Hmm... "She won't get lost if you keep her on a leash or a harness, will she?" William answered helpfully, passing the purring kitten back to her rightful owner. "Just try to be kind and patient with her. Cats are very sensitive animals, and when they're growing up, they can even go through an angsty, teenager-like phase," or at least that's what HE called it.
"I hope my advice helps though," he offered Nerida a smile. Quote:

At all.
Well, if there was one thing Elijah hated more than an out of place strand of hair it was being disliked. Especially being disliked by someone who would be grading you...
Okay, so there was ulterior motive involved in Elijah's trip down to Williamson's hut, but what the bro Professor didn't know couldn't hurt him. PLUS he had brought a gift, which he had even wrapped himself.
See? *nice guy*
There was a whole bunch of people surrounding the hut and pestering the Professor and Elijah wished they would LEAVE so he could have some privacy to mutter his apologies. One girl seemed to be having problems with her kitty. A KITTY for crying out loud! It took all of Elijah's efforts not to remove his 'sad and deeply apologetic' façade that he had put on just for this moment and replace it with some eye rolling and perhaps a snort or two.
Instead, he lingered in the background and waited for the kitty whisperer to finish his whisperings. The Hufflepuff with the ego problem also wasn't missed, as he was clearly lurking within William's vision. The professor hadn't forgotten his little antics in class, either, so he folded his arms once he saw the kid.
"What do you want?"
