She paused and looked up hoping that students wanted to hear what her favorite was...surely they did it was a book club and they were all going to share...right...
She shook her head up and down slightly signaling herself to move on. "Okay, so let's talk about the book and it's background a little bit. This book is actually a little bit of a mystery in the Wizarding World. We know that it was released during the 15th Century so around the 1400s, but we don't much about the author." she paused as she glanced out at each of the students. "There are rumors that Beedle the Bard may have put the book together...obviously from the name. But all that we know of him is that he helped write a book with a handful of others describing Quidditch And he wrote the original in Ancient Runes to possibly keep the stories hidden from Muggle eyes."
"However, back in the Harry Potter years, most of these tales, excluding the The Warlock's Hairy Heart were copied down by Beatrix Bloxam into a book called The Toadstool Tales. That book was quickly banned because the pictures that she included with the tales tended to induce nausea and vomiting in the children who read them." she said wrinkling up her face a little bit wondering what the images must have looked like.
She flipped to the first story and held up the opening page from her book, "Well, let's talk about the first tale in the book, The Wizard and the Hopping Pot. This tale is short, action-packed and has a very relevant moral for younger students." she said as she glanced at the first pages, ""What lessons can be learned from this tale? Did the story surprise you?" she asked the students hoping to start up a conversation between them all.
OOC: Okey dokey here we go with the first story...feel free to jump in at any time. I'll post the next story with some thought questions this afternoon. Thanks everyone for being here since I know this is the time of the summer where things get hectic in everyones' lives. *huggles you all*
He listened to the Professor recount her favorite story and why. So it was something she shared with her brother... among other things he remembered her saying in their classes.
But now onto the first story in the book. His own favorite of course. A small grin tugged at the corner of his lips, the story didnt quite surprise him but rather
"I remembered being a little scared when it was read to me the first time, my Uncle used different voices with all the sounds that came out of the Pot." He remembered those sounds. It was funny to him now but as a child tucked snugly under the covers of his bed it as plenty scary then.
And the moral of that tale?
"Always treat your fellows decently, have the heart to help them whichever way you can, because one way or the other what you give forth to others will make its way back to you, whether that be kindness or cruelty."
