Of course he could do whatever he wanted! João didn't need some random guy's permission. So, he didn't even look back and once he deemed it was enough water, he let go of it to water some plant else.

...people, and their bloody complexes to just explain themselves so that they were viewed as right. João simply shrugged back, only turning his head momentarily at the boy. "Alright," he said casually. It was his reasoning, and this was João's. None of them needed any approval.

"Aguamenti," he said at the same time as him and water poured down from the wand. More boring stuff for him.
