... Wes looked like a doof. Had he, Van, looked as doofy on his wedding day? His eyes searched out Lilyan. Probably. Probably he still got that way. He didn't know what he looked like when he was looking at his wife, but if it was anything like how Wes was right now...
... then it was doofy.
He turned his head to watch Isobel, the expression on his face turning pensive as he stood there at Wes's side, doing his best not to lean on his cane too heavily.
---- "I will turn your spleen inside out if you ruin this for her." Althea leaned over and hissed in Izzy's father's ear, then she straightened up and started walking with the others. After their most recent encounter he surely knew it was not an idle threat.
Eyes front at first and then to one side and the other....
... a breath caught in her throat and she stared for too long and then made herself look away. Fine. Alright. No big deal. It didn't matter. It wasn't like it mattered.
Wedding mattered.
Izzy mattered.
She hadn't missed a step but now her expression was icy, distant. And when they reached the front she just stared straight ahead and refused to look.
