Beth looked up from her letter and towards the girl who had spoken. She hadn't really seen her around before, but that wasn't surprising because she wasn't exactly the most observant of people.
"Hey. I'm Elizabeth, but most people call me Beth." This girl definitely seemed friendly and open enough, but she'd heard a lot of things about Slytherin. Her mother had told her things had changed a lot since her day. She hoped this was true, even though her mother hadn't spoken too fondly.
