Nervousness and shyness were apart of his personalities at times but it didn't usually get as far as coloring unless provoked the right way that a certain captain knew just how to do. Gideon chuckled as she wiggled her eyes at him acting all amusing and teasing to him. "...ye better."
He smiled at her repeated birthday greeting, leaning forward to give her a quick kiss in response before pulling away. "So...have any plans for the day?" he questioned curiously. He clearly not as afraid of his birthday as Selina tended to be about hers, at least the second to last one where she had very nearly flipped out over getting older.
She nearly choked of laughter when Gideon voiced her pride that was obvious at his blush. Perhaps he knew her better than he let on because her small little smile told him so much about what she was thinking. Then again they had been dating for close to two years, so he knew her better than most simply because he had been with her for a long time. The pair of them had been dating longer than most students at Hogwarts did; in the span of almost two years many of their peers had had several relationships. Very few students kept one person their entire Hogwarts experience and Selina and Gideon were on their way to thr standard. So little smiles, looks, and actions were like an open an open book to one another. He could read everything she did without struggling to understand her, which was a feat because Selina was very complicated.
Once her laughter died down she said,
"What...? I'm not allowed to have pride in my accomplishments, prefect?" She was poking the lion a little when she called him prefect, but she was never one to care much. Teasing was fun, especially with him.
But it was her turn to blush when he gave her a quick kiss at her own birthday wish to him. When he pulled away her face resembled the vibrant color of her hair that she knew he was quite fond of and her eyes looked up at him in shock. When they had first started to date he was never the one to take the initiative. She was liking seventeen already.
Clearing her head of these thoughts she tried to get back on task with his birthday celebration.
"Well," she began,
"I was thinking that first I could give you your present and then I could let you beat me with some one-on-one Quidditch. Because I'm in a generous mood. What with it being your birthday and all." She then proceeded to lift up the scarf that she had stolen from him her third year and said,
"I'm all dressed for winter anyway."
