19. Wand

The eleven-year-old blond French girl clenched onto her sister’s hand as she walked into the little wand shop. She didn’t know what to get and she knew Lily would help her out.

“I’m scared,” she whimpered, “I know” Lily rumbled Alicia’s hair, “but we need to get you a wand love,” she smiled over to her; leaning down she kissed her forehead. “You know daddy will be so proud of you – getting a wand” her face screwed.

Ali knew why Lily didn’t have a wand, Lily wasn’t magical, not like the rest of the Devereaux family, she was a squib.
