“Time for bed, Aurora,” her mother called as she headed into her daughter’s bedroom. The girl seated on her window seat staring out into the night sky.
“But mommm…I was looking at stars,” Aurora remarked as she turned around, pouting as only little girls can.
“No ‘But mom’ now. It’s getting late and you need to sleep. The stars can wait.”
With a sigh, Aurora slipped from her perch and headed to her four-poster bed, turning down the covers and laying down.
The older Sinistra woman tucked her in with a smile and leaned down, kissing her daughter’s head.
“Goodnight.”
