Michelle was running up the stairs. She kept running. She came to a halt when it felt like she had reached the seventh floor. Then she started walking in the corridor.
Slowly.
Softly. I need to get away from here. I need to be with Jake. I need to go back home.
Chelle changed directions several times. She wasn't ready to go back yet. I just need to cry.
She raised her head a little, enough to look at what was in front of her. There she saw a massive iron gate built into the wall. It had beautiful carvings on it. Chelle stopped crying. She went closer to the door. This wasn't here before. What is it?
Her heart was pounding in her chest. She extended her right hand and placed it on the door. She could touch it. She could feel it. It was real. It's worth the risk.
Chelle closed her eyes and turned the knob.
