Merope kept two secrets close to her heart.
1. That she was in love with a muggle
2. That she could speak parseltongue.
She liked to comfort the snakes after Morfin was finished with them. They were her only friends. She whispered to a snake who was hissing about the pain.
“It'll be all right. I won't let him hurt you again...”
'You haaavvvee nooo controool ooovvveeerr hiim.'
It was true.
Tears leaked from her eyes.
“When I marry Tom, I'll have my magic back, I'll be able to beat Morfin.”
A dream that would never come true.
