Don't Cross the Book | who turned out the | Lights Lennox

OOC: Okay, I've notice that GinevraWeasley hasn't been online for almost a month now, so I've decided to take matters into my own hands and move this RP along myself, since I like it and want it to blossom into the beautiful flower it has the potential to be (metaphorically speaking). So we'll skip the train, et cetera, and move on to Hogwarts

For once, Viv did not stay up to ungodly hours of the morning on a rooftop. She slept the whole night in a comfy four-poster bed in the Gryffindor girls' dorm, and woke up actually feeling rested. She got up as quietly as she could and got dressed, trying not to wake the other girls. She slipped out of Gryffindor tower and made her way through the maze of castle until she finally ended up at the huge oak front doors. She finally relaxed, running down to the lake and sitting down on the dewey grass, soaking in the early morning sunshine and thinking about the previous day.

Getting to Kings Cross had been no trouble, but they'd been scolded by a conductor when they asked for directions to Platform Nine and Three-Quarters. Luckily a helpful woman (wearing a old assortment of clothing including a pair of fluffy white bunny slippers and puce hat topped with a crow) gave them better directions to the platform. The train ride had been mostly uneventful, except if you counted their introduction to some wizarding sweets.
The Sorting ... now that had been nerve-wrecking. Alex, Kiera, Victor and Viv had been asked to stand to the side while the first-years (including little Olivia) were Sorted into different houses. As soon as Liv was Sorted into Gryffindor, Viv wanted, needed to be too. The aching need just got worse as Alex was Sorted into Gryffindor too. When "Continent, Vivienne!" was called, she'd almost forgot it was her name, and stumbled up to the stool only when the teacher (what was her name?! Two seconds and she'd already forgotten!) looked around at her. The Sorting Hat had fit snuggly over her ears, half obscuring the others in the hall. Then a voice whispered in her ear.
"Fearless, sharp-witted, can be cold, but is basically a good heart ..." The voice had come from the Hat! "Oh, you're a tricky one. You'd fit well into Slytherin, but ..."
"Please," Viv had thought desperately. "Please, for the love of all things good in this world, let me be in Gryffindor!"
Finally, after five whole minutes of debating, the Hat had come to its decision - Gryffindor. Viv had yanked it off her head and sprinted down to the Gryffindor table.

Now, sitting on the grass beside the lake, Viv had to wonder if they'd made the right choice in coming here. What if someone did find them out? What if they were captured and killed, like what had happened in the past? She drew her knees to her chest and wrapped her arms around them, rocking gently back and forth, biting her lip worriedly.
