Despite his grouchy nature, Edric was a rather studious boy. He enjoyed reading and he enjoyed learning, but those weren't exactly the qualities he was best known for. Of course.

Head buried in a heavy book, the boy walked down one of the aisles distractedly. Eventually he came to a halt and slammed the book shut. As a result, a cloud of dust hovered over his face and intoxicated his lungs and nostrils for a good minute or so. Coughing, Edric put the book away.

And that's when he saw it.
A student. Laying on the floor. Apparently... dead.

Edric looked around for a moment, eyes widened. There was nobody in sight. And so, he did what any good, brave, kind Gryffindor would've done.

He walked away before anyone put the blame on him.
