Or, well, almost undetected. There was one boy who was she pretty sure would and could detect her through the buzz. She saved him the trouble of trying and took a seat beside him. He seemed busy, you know, eating, so Aspen left him to it. But she was THERE.
Observing. Him. The others.
Some of her classmates were shouting about murder. That was interesting. Aspen wondered if it was true.
Then she wondered if they needed a detective.
Hmm.
Cornelius didn't immediately make any move of acknowledging Aspen. He could tell that it was her though, able to see her brown hair out of the corner of his eyes and simply knowing by her comfortable silence. But he didn't say anything immediately. First, he was far too busy stuffing his face, and secondly, he could tell that she didn't need him to greet her grandly or anything of the sort, especially since she was so preoccupied with glancing around herself. He kind of guessed that she was perfectly happy, if not possibly moreso, just sitting in silence for a few moments.
But when he had finished his sandwich, wiped his hands on a napkin, and taken a swig of pumpkin juice, Cornelius was more than ready to engage in some kind of conversation with the girl that had slowly but surely become one of his favorite things about Hogwarts. Without making a fuss, his hand gently found her own and entwined their fingers, allowing this to be their first contact before his light brown eyes roamed over to find her own gaze.
"Hey," he greeted with a warm smile, quietly observing her as she observed all of the different people around them.
It was kind of obvious that Cornelius was happy that she had found her way to the Great Hall at the same time he had, vague amusement crossing his lightly tanned expression as he watched her for just a moment.
