It was tacky...and he most certainly was NOT tacky.
Meh, it was his books fault, anyway. If the thing had just stayed where he had left it...He would've been there. ON TIME. Gah, why was it things were all-the-sudden sprouting legs and walking off around his dorm? Merlin help whoever might have been touching his things...
Rounding the corner, not really paying attention to what he was doing or who else might have been attempting to walk in the area, he broke out into another sprint...
It was a shame Dylan didn't seen the smaller girl nearing the door at about the same time, because the next thing he knew, he was colliding with her full force. On instinct, he reached out, wrapping his right arm tightly around her waist, while the other darted out to steady them on the wall.
Sweet Merlin!
Trying to calm his breathing...and his pounding heart from basically running two miles...Dylan looked down...
Something he soon realized he should NOT have done...
It had been Bee. He'd basically tackled Bee...He eyes widened at that little piece of information fully sunk in.
Uh oh!
Stupid book! Where in Merlin's underpants was that book?!!
Beezus was still brisk walking, quite oblivious of her surroundings, focused on getting to the Book Club Meeting and on finding her book which she had apparently borrowed from the library. Her eyes were on the bag and not on the path she was striding. And that....seemed like a VERY bad idea.
Because at the moment her hand had clasped the familiar leather cover of the book she was looking for, a body crashed to her own. She lost balance, fell backwards with force, her hand let go of the book and she shut her eyes for Merlin only knows what would happen next if she hit the cold floor.
......................................
Yet, her body didn't touch anything, she was feeling a strong arm on her waist instead. Breathing heavily, she raised her head and slowly opened her eyes. Then saw...
"Dy.." She inhaled sharply.
"Dylan...?"
Okay. So was she still alive?
