After seeing Amelia onto the platform and towards the train, Gideon had walked around to see if there was anywhere else he could help. Finding nothing after a while, he simply made sure his sister had made it onto the Hogwarts Express safe and sound before following with his own belongings. The prefect set his trunk, broom and guitar safely in the luggage compartment before heading back into the aisle heading in search of a compartment.
He was a few feet forward when he registered that there was in fact one compartment he needed to check out, where no doubt Selina and Kurumi would already be heading and anyone else whose name he couldn't remember at the moment. His badge was still in his pocket, forgetting about it at the moment as he made his way to the prefect's compartment, as his focus was more just getting in the door and not being nervous about being one of the "new kids" there. Especially after all, since he doubted anyone thought they would be switching Gryffindor boys so soon...Adam was a seventh year...right?
Reaching the doorway, Gideon paused for a moment before sliding open the door and slipping inside. There were a handful of people already inside including Selina, Kurumi AND Walnut but it wasn't his friend and girlfriend who stopped him in his tracks. It was the older Gryffindor boy that caught him off guard. Another Gryffindor boy with a badge but he couldn't see what was written on it at first.
Wait...was there a mix-up? Was the owl sent to him by mistake when the position was meant for the other boy?
Okay...act natural. "Hey guys," Gideon greeted with a polite smile.
