Lyra cleared her throat slightly as the conversation shifted to families while she turned a light shade of red. It wasn't as if she didn't want to have one someday, but she really didn't want to talk about it at the moment, especially now that she never really thought about and had never given it thought. "Well, I'm sure we'll both have that in the future." She said with a smile "Only time would tell." Then she rolled her eyes as Benjy blushed while she let out a chuckle "Benjamin Doherty are you hitting on me?!"
"Good." The blonde replied with a grin, then she nodded as she took part of the blankey that he had offered, wrapping it around her shoulders gingerly "I should have worn something thicker." She said with a small frown "I didn't think it would be this chilly." Then, as if realizing something, she suddenly sat up straight and eyed the small pouch "How did that blanket fit in there?" She asked - momentarily forgetting all about expansion spells and all that.
"Sure." She said with a smile "Just as soon as I finish the papers - and convince my cousin to let me move out of the manor." She joked. Being stuck in an old mansion with only house elves and a moody Cassandra for company was most certainly not her cup of tea.
She then raised an eyebrow at him and rolled her eyes "I think most Slytherins are troublesome - although, that's probably because the only Slytherins I've met are either family members, or friends of said family."
Then she smiled and nodded "Yup, I'll be fine. Don't worry." Then she chuckled "As much as I love flying, I'm not really good at Quidditch." She admitted ruefully
Instead of saying something, Lyra simply nodded in understanding as kept her hand over his arm in a consoling manner, keeping quiet. Really, what was there to say? She was not going to pretend that she knew how he felt, after all, she never had a sibling to lose. She could merely just imagine.
"I think she was saying about not being able to finish." Lyra said with a grimace "But between the shouts, the stuff being thrown against the walls, and the sudden explosions of magic, I couldn't be too sure." Merlin, Cassandra was a pain to live with when upset.
She then smiled and said "Oh, what a lovely name." Then, she cocked her head to one side and asked "What's she like?" "Very true..." He said laughing alongside Lyra.
"Even though it may be silly, kids nowadays might still use that." Benjy replied giving her a joking look before laughing again.
The redhead nodded.
"Yes, unfortunately, many people want to be a part of it simply because they were seen as the heros... or some of them were seen as heros." That was the kind of thing that Benjy didn't want to be associated with. He didn't mind doing things to help those in need, but he didn't want to be taken out and praised for being a hero.
"I like to think of it otherwise. If you take into consideration the dangers and bad things of a job, the good things make the job easier to agree to. It also prepares you for what might happen." That was his strategy before taking a job. Find out what could go wrong or could happen just so that you're prepared and if you still want the job then take it after that. Pulling her closer, he responded quietly.
"Don't worry... I'll be careful." He then sat back a bit and gave her a smile, showing that he was serious.
He could tell that she didn't exactly want to talk about families right now so he laid off it. Maybe they could talk about it some other time.... when she was ready. Instead of saying anything he just nodded. Time would determine their fate... and he would just have to be patient.....He caught that eye-roll and was laughing by the time that she said anything.
"Maayyy---be..." He could live with that answer... and kept laughing.
"Why?" he asked jokingly.
Good, he was glad that she was comfortable now. It would be a very long day if she was chilly the whole time.
"See, but if you had worn something thicker, there would be no need for the blanket..." Benjy replied with a smile. The good part was that she was warm now.
"Ah... This." He said holding up the little bag.
"Just a simple spell that allows me to bring whatever I need wherever I go." The redhead answered with a grin plastered onto his face. Sometimes the little things amaze people, instead of the bigger things.
"I will be patient then..." He said laughing.
"I'm sure you'd find a way to convince them to let you move out.... unless they want to come with you." Grin...
"Oh... I'm sure they are all troublesome in some way, shape, or form." Slytherins were simply placed there for that reason. The whole house had that reputation. As for the Quidditch...
"Alright....maybe we'll just have to go flying somewhere together, rather than playing Quidditch." "Well, OWLs and NEWTs are very stressful, and sometimes it just gets to be too much." Benjy just shrugged. He remembered those days and was glad to be done with them.
"Ahh, yes... I really love the name Lily and was so happy when my aunt and uncle named her that.... She's very quiet, as far as I know..."
