Entry 10
By: Hermione Lily Potter
Twas the night before Christmas and all through the castle
not a creature was stirring, not even a Doxy,
The trees were all ready, decorated with care,
in hopes that the House elves soon would be there.
The students, all sleeping, up in their tower rooms,
while visions of the house cup danced in their heads,
McGonagall in her night robes, and I in my cap
had just stopped patrolling, in time for a nap.
The house elves crept up to the common rooms with joy,
and left all the presents, for girl or for boy;
And I heard them exclaim as they ran out of sight;
Presents to all, and to all [house elves] good night!
