The way the Headmaster was now talking to him made him chew on his lip some more, getting more nervous by the second. Was it dangerous?! But it was quite clear that he would not tolerate any sort of protest or disobedience - not that Lewis had any reason to do either - so he carefully did as he was told, placing the white ball right in front of the Headmaster before taking a couple of hurried steps backwards away from him...
...bumping into Kurumi in the process, who was also...there. "I-I was told it belongs to Professor Vindictus, Sir." Lewis' eyes flickered briefly over to the man sitting next to the Headmaster before allowing them to rest on the object again. He blushed furiously once he remembered that he'd just been told something else too, which was to not move after he'd taken a step back. Did talking count as moving?
While it was pretty much impossible not to hear what was going on to one side of the Staff Table, Lewis didn't dare turn his head towards them. Plus, he didn't want to look nosy or anything. Even though, he WAS just a tiny bit interested what on Earth had caused Professor Schirmer to yell at Professor Roslund like that.
The students were all being positively LOONY, and he didn't have much patience for it. Perhaps they could all climb onto the train immediately, and Tate would gladly wave good-bye to their departing figures. What with the staff fighting amongst themselves, the general disregard for rules and common courtesy found among the students, and the fact that he'd much rather be spending time at home with his wife and infant daughter... Tate wasn't going to be good company.
Especially when he THOUGHT he'd made it the whole term without danger and death showing up on his doorstep. SIGH. "Now, then, lad. Feeling alright? No tingling in your limbs? Do you know your name? House? What did you have for breakfast?"
Tate waved his hand down the table to attract the attention of the Healer. He'd just have her give the boy a look over.
