Anyhow- Gwendolyn felt the desperate need to change the subject, so she found herself asking, all of a sudden: ‘Do you have any plans for the summer?’. There. Perhaps she shouldn’t have changed the subject so abruptly…
Tayla raised one eyebrow in a tease. She couldn't decide whether Gwen meant it or whether it was all an act and at least had a crush on whoever that boy was. Plus how quickly she had changed the subject. Hmmm...
"Okay," Tayla replied simply. Better not push it.
"But if you ever want to talk to someone..." she said vaguely and shrugged. She was sure Gwen knew she would be there for her if she needed someone to listen.
"I'm not sure what my parents have planned for the summer," Tayla replied, feeling her excitement build up.
"But last summer Dad brought us horse-riding. It was great fun! But I'd love a simple trip to the beach, too."
Tayla smiled.
"What are your plans?"
