Lily was almost done. She had finished carving out her runes and now all she had to do was paint them. Since her finger that she had pricked earlier was still sore, she decided to just go with the paint. So she got some of the paint and went to work. First up was the first eight that she had carved. This consisted of Fehu, Uruz, Thursiaz, Ansuz, Raidho, Kenaz, Gebo, and finished up with Wunjo. Carefully, the ravenclaw painted her runes, not once but twice and then set them next to her to dry.

Now that Lily was done with her first eight runes, she moved on to the next set of eight. She picked up the first one and carefully painted it. After Hagalaz, she picked up the next few: Nauthiz, Isa, and Jera. Once these three were painted she placed them to the side along with the other runes and continued with the remaining four. Eihwaz, Perthro, Algiz, and Sowilo finished out the middle set. After these had a second coat as well, Lily made sure that they had space to dry before she had to turn them in.

There were only eight more runes left to paint before Lily would be done with her first final. She went through this last group slower. She picked up each one and before painting it, she tried to think of the meaning. She wasn't sure what Tiwaz meant, so she made sure to look in the book. Then she moved onto Berkana, Ehwaz, Mannaz, and Laguz. Again, she didn't know the meaning of these so she painted them and moved on. Then she came to Ingwaz, which Lily happened to know related to some agriculture god. So she painted it and continued with Dagaz and Othala.

Once she had finished, Lily gathered her runes and placed them onto a piece of parchment. Then taking out her wand, she quickly cleaned her area and took a seat leaning on a tree until they were allowed to head back to the castle and be dismissed from the final.
