She took a step back and jumped in surprise. "Oof!" Some of the juice from her cup had spilled. She turned around to apologize to the person she had hit. "I'm so sorry!" she said. "I hope I didn't spill anything on you."
Alex had been heading to get a drink when someone announced how much further they were ahead of the snakes.
The third year had turned around to face the announcer when she colided with someone, or someone colided with her.
"I'm sorry." the puzzled red head said to the person she hit.
