"Like I said, Leticia wanted to kill the Princess, so can any idea why she would use this sleeping draught instead?"
Stella just decided she really didn't like Leticia Somnolens. Poisoning innocent young princesses with Draught of Living Death for who knew what reason. Plus, she just wasn't comfortable with the topic in the first place, and the fact she'd thought of that potion back when they'd still been talking about the fairy tale. It was definitely not a potion she'd ever really thought about wanting to learn, especially considering they usually had to test their potions on somebody. It might have been easy for Leticia the Hag to sentence someone to that fate, but she couldn't. Not even if they were also brewing the antidote.
Which, actually, gave her an idea, along with some of the other answers that had been given, and she'd raised her hand tentatively. "Perhaps Leticia knew she was the only one who was proficient enough to brew the potion and identify the results. If she assumed that nobody would be able to brew the antidote correctly, or even realize that was what had been used, the princess was basically as good as dead. She could control the situation, and obviously she wasn't going to confess what she'd done or used, so the princess would just stay asleep for who knew how long. Leticia could just wait long enough, and then bring her back and convince her her family abandoned her or something. I'd think that would be wrose than death." Text Cut: Professor Lafay Quote:

She then motioned to the class to light their burners. "Begin by filling your cauldrons with water..." She said.
Just the idea of having that much control over a person was vile to her, but she hadn't not participated in any of the Potions lessons yet. She wasn't starting now, even if she was fairly certain she would decline to test it once it was finished. House points or not, she wasn't going to sentence anyone to basically a coma. She turned to look at Professor Lafay as they'd been instructed to begin, however. Just starting the potion wasn't bad, and she knew it was supposed to be an advanced potion. So even if she didn't follow through and test it, it would be a method of checking if her skills were really that much better than she'd thought a term ago.
Removing her wand from its holster, she Scourgified her cauldron a couple times just to be safe, checking to make sure it was definitely spotless. She wasn't going to fail this early, and she knew that was always the unsaid first step in brewing by now. Once that was complete, though, she used her wand to light the burner underneath her cauldron before shifting to point the wand inside her cauldron. "Aguamenti," she cast, ending the charm as soon as her cauldron was full of water and sliding her wand gently back into its holster for now. It was still ready, but not in the way while she worked on her journal. Even though she had to add a bit of her feelings on the matter into it as well.
