Alyssa thought for awhile before slowly raising her hand,"Professor I believe that Leticia used the sleeping draught instead because if she had out right poisoned and killed the Princess, everyone would have immediately suspected that she was responsible for her death and she would have been arrested within minutes of the discovery. By making the Princess sleep until she died, no one would be the wiser and by the time they did, she would have been far away from the Kingdom and harder to catch."



Just as she had finished giving her answer, Alyssa saw Professor Lafay motion to them to light their burners and heard her tell them to fill their cauldrons with water. Lighting the burner at her workstation and adjusting the heat of the fire manually, Alyssa then took out her cauldron. She unholstered her wand and cleaned the cauldron by saying,"Scourgify". Then she examined the cauldron to make sure that it had been thoroughly cleaned and that it was in good condition, before she pointed her wand inside the cauldron again and said, "Aguamenti" filling it up with water. Once the cauldron was filled, Alyssa ended the spell by saying,"Finite.

She then took out her quill and wrote down the steps in her potions journal.




Then she sat back and waited to hear what other questions Professor Scabior was going to ask, and at the same time, paid attention and listened for further instructions from Professor Lafay.
