Still looking for a branch to use for her Rune set, Amelia had a feeling that she was starting to fall behind. Time wasn't the most important thing here, but she also didn't want to be the last one finished this final.
"Where are you, stupid branch?!"
Kicking a pile of leaves in frustration, Amelia saw a branch uncovered. Bending to pick it up, she noted that it was over three feet. It also seemed to be Holly... a guess that was proven to be correct judging by the fact that she was standing in front of a Holly tree.
It was perfect! Amelia might not be a walking encyclopedia full of tree knowledge, but she did know a bit about what Celtics thought of the Holly tree. Since this tree continues to stay green and grow fruit even in the winter, it is a representation of the need to persist and let life triumph even in times of darkness. Holly is also said to give protection and blah blah blah... but that was not the really important part in Amelia's mind.
The bit about carrying on even in dark times had meaning to her, because she had faced dark times in her life and often wanted to give up. Something always kept her going though, and she honestly wasn't sure how she managed to do it half the time. |
