Ancient Runes Final - Field Trip As you step through the portal, you find yourself in a wooded area surrounded by many trees. This is Buckinghamshire, a county that has long been associated with witchcraft and magic. As you walk along the path, you will notice clumps of Willow trees, twisted old Hazels, delicate Elders, gnarled Hawthorn and Blackthorn, ancient English Oaks, green Alders and Aspen trees.
This is the perfect place for you to find that special piece of wood to make your rune set. Take your time and walk amongst the trees to attune yourself to which wood would best suit you. Once you have worked that out, please choose a windfallen branch (a branch that has fallen off the tree naturally). Please do not break or cut any branches off the trees. You will need a branch of at LEAST three feet long.
Once you have found your branch, head over to the workbench that has been set up and create your rune set. There are tools that you may use if you are not confident in using magic. You will find saws to cut your branch (I recommend at least 2 inch discs), a gouge tool and red ochre paint for those who don't want to use their blood. ooc rules: I want at least ten posts for this exercise. Starting with posting in the Groundskeeper's hut, coming through the portal, finding your branch and then making your runes using the steps detailed in the previous lessons. You have one week to complete the exercise. This final is worth 30 points. |
