That phrase, 'No pressure' usually, no ALWAYS implied quite a deal of pressure. Something Auggie certainly didn't want to deal with. But he had already asked her, just now right? Yeah, so he was good.
He just smiled and nodded at her comment about his birthday. Certainly would, although they would be back at school in November.
"My parents, liking you? Of course. Why wouldn't they? Do you think you will like them?" he said in mock horror, playfully pushing her arm. Her worry made him want to laugh. His parents would surely like her and well, if not, he wouldn't care. He did.
Her answer to his question about Greece caught him really off guard.
"Oh?" She was close enough with the boy that had barely said five words to him, to run off to Greece with each other? That was odd.
"Well, that could be fun. I will write to you." Not that he was jealous or anything
