Olexei icy blues shifted between Nastya and the haughty girl and back again. He so wanted to stay in the shade and had half a mind to tell Nastya to come join him. But how would that look to the other tributes? That they were scared? Did he care really? The short answer is no. But Nastya, he didnt know if she would welcome being viewed as scared even if she wasnt.
Quelling a sigh he stood and walked towards Nastya and the other girl, cursing in his thoughts on the sun that shined on them so mercilessly. He looked at smirking haughtiness of the brunette girl for a split second. He realized that the reason he blurted out Nastya's name was to show that she wasnt alone, and perhaps to avoid getting her into trouble even before the game starts.
Which truthfully doesnt make any sense given the nature of the games, but Nastya was a girl from his district and Olexei felt a natural affinity for her in front of all these other tributes.
Looking at the redhead girl he uttered
"How long do you reckon that guy's gonna last?" he angled his head at Pax.
"You think him socializing with the Peacekeepers that way would improve the odds in his favor?" Or improve the odds for them?
