Maxwell walked into the kitchen, looking for something to eat he wasn't sure he wanted to talk to anyone, which is why he hadn't gone to his house table. He'd gotten a howler from his mom for a bad mark in potions, his worst subject. So he came to the kitchen to avoid annoyance.
