All this talk of blood was making Ella feel a little squeamish. She tried to think why on earth anyone would willingly stain their runes in their own blood. First, it would probably hurt and secondly, EW! However, there had to be something that they gained from doing so. "Professor, I guess if the witches or wizards use their own blood it could maybe strengthen the er-the bond that the witch or wizard has with the rune?" Ella wasn't sure if this answer was correct but it seemed possible.
