Or would she have been like Leilani, trying to psych him for what was to come?
Suddenly, Pax took a run at the lowest-looking ruined wall, which was still a good 5 or 6 metres high. His feet and hands found holds, and he skimmed up the wall like a gecko. Unfortunately for him, there was already someone there awaiting his arrival. A Peacekeeper/guard/whatever they called them here slashed his wand at Pax, blowing him off the wall and back down onto the stone. Pax bit back a scream as his left shoulder hit the floor first and pain jolted through it. He pulled himself up, holding his injured shoulder and staring up at the guard person with hate flashing in his turquoise eyes. "I'm not done yet!" he shouted, gearing himself up for another leap at the wall.
Pax was nothing if not persistent.
As Matthias was trying to enjoy his slightly tense conversation with Celeste, he saw something over her shoulder. A boy, blonde, decided to just run at one of the ruined walls. And then climb it. Watching him be blown back was predictable, but Matthias still didn't like seeing it. He ran over to the boy, who was unfazed, and stood between him and the wall. "Hey! Don't get yourself killed before the games. You seem like the type who could actually win this." Completely ignoring the other boy's angry fight stance--and the fact that the other boy's eyes were trained on the cackling peacekeeper on the wall, not Matthias himself--Matthias stuck out a hand to him. "I'm Matthias Johnson, District 3. And I don't want to be here any more than you do."
