Now back to the 'Thank you' part. And he nodded again, "Of course, I understand," didn't he care about Arya too? She was his best friend at Hogwarts, and he gladly took care of her in Sabel's place. That's what best friend do, no? So, Treyen understood what Max meant, but the blushing was not necessary, really. He was probably embarrassed or something, Treyen couldn't tell, nor did he care about the blush to find out either. This particular Ravenclaw was probably too shy, and it's not like they'd spoken too many times either. 'She can be a handful'. He wasn't sure if he'd agree with that statement, mainly because Ellie only had one thing on her mind. Quidditch. So, in all honesty, she wasn't much of a handful, Quidditch was. However, given her relation to Quidditch, then she was a handful too, but Treyen failed to see that. He didn't comment about it, because something else Max said sparked his attention. "I'm glad you say that." Here's the reason why. "Very glad, actually, because...I'm not going to be around next term...," at least he was finally accepting that, "...and it'd be nice to know that I can count on you to keep an eye, or both, on her." Regardless of whether they were still together or not.
Yes, Max, he was asking you to keep on doing what you've been doing so far. As Treyen spoke, Max very subtly reached one arm over to scratch the other and lightly pinched himself in the process. He thought maybe he could've stumbled and hit his head while he was out on the grounds and was currently in a sort of dream... but, of course, he seemed to be wide awake. Max had never anticipated such kindness from Treyen. Though... should he have been insulted that Treyen didn't see him as even the slightest threat?
He supposed not. Max's reputation of just being the 'nice guy who was simply just a nice guy' kind of eliminated any possibility for guys to see him as competition.
"Of course I'll look out for her for you," he almost laughed. He would certainly look out for Ellie. He did that as if it was his job now anyway. "I mean, with you being gone... I can't imagine she'll take that well..." He was rubbing the back of his neck again, a contemplative expression on his face. He was trying to decide if Ellie would be the type to frequently cry over his absence or if she would put on a brave face. He wasn't quite sure what to expect from her. Though Ellie was very tough, she was still a girl. Max did his best to understand them, but time and time again they surprised him.
"Yeah, I've got your back. You can count on me." He saluted.
