No, he was pretty sure Keepers were the ones to have it.
Anyway, "Next game looks promising." And Treyen should try to stop making small talk right about now. He truly didn't feel like discussing Quidditch at all, even if what he was about to say was closely related. "Either way," yes, this is it, Max, "I wanted to thank you," he was being completely honest, one could see he really meant it, "For being there for Ellie when I couldn't." Basically, that. "And I don't mean just yesterday, but...always." The Ravenclaw was altogether the best person to take care of his girlfriend, even if Treyen was around, as it happened when their last match ended. "Thank you." His smile just widened a little bit more. "Mmm," he replied, his gaze shifting to the windows leading to the courtyard. "It'll be a good one, I'm sure." It always was with Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff in the classic battle for the Quidditch Cup.
As Treyen moved along from the pointless chatter that often occurred at the beginning of conversations, Max braced himself only to be surprised as... Treyen thanked him? In a tone that seemed to be of utmost sincerity? His gaze dropped back down to the ground as the Head Boy spoke, feeling his cheeks grow warm. "I," he paused, rubbing the back of his neck with his hand, "um, just care about her, too, y'know?" His face contorted at his words, struggling to make such an admittance, even though it was obvious to anyone that knew Ellie and Max that he cared about her very much. He raised his head to find Treyen smiling at him. He really wasn't upset that he carried his girlfriend all the way to the hospital wing from the Quidditch pitch yesterday? Max may have underestimated him. "She can be a handful. You shouldn't have to be the only one to look out for her all the time. I'm happy to help." And he was.
Ellie was worth any trouble.
