A few days after the incident, Remus walked out of the Hospital Wing and into the Common Room. Only Lily was there studying and he walked up to her, pointed his wand and said “Silencio.” She couldn’t speak! Remus sat down next to her and said “I don’t want you to talk when I say this! James really likes you, Lily, and he has for so long. I think you should give him a go and say yes. And I think you like him too, even thought you don’t want to admit it. Okay, I know you like him. It’s time you let your guard down and went out with him,” he said.
Lily was looking at him with wide eyes, and her mouth hanging open.
He smiled, broke the charm and walked away. She still remained in silence, but only because she was thinking.

Later that night, James walked out of the boys dorms to find Lily reading. Alone. He sat down next to her and looked over to see her looking back at him. Smiling? Yes, she was smiling.
He took her book out her hands and said “Evans, will you be my girlfriend?”
And she said “Yes.”
