Remembering what they were told about petting making the magic work stronger, Amelia bent down and kept petting the niffler. She stroked it's head affectionately and scratched its ears. Did other things that she thought it might like while it made sounds that one could only assume were of contentment.
Finally when she was sure that she had done enough petting, she gently reached out and carefully took the watch out of the niffler's clutches. Good. Very good. There had been no protest or annoyance or anything. Straightening up again, Amelia held the watch for a few moments before backing away from the niffler.
She held out the hand with the watch in it, stretching her arm out so that the niffler could take it. She watched the niffler slowly walk over and take its watch back. "Good niffler!" She gave the animal another affectionate pat now. |
