Stuck inside with Sirius | *Splish-Splash* | bamBAM | ☁ Spooktacular ☁

SPOILER!!: Professorrrr

"Good thinking," she replied, obviously impressed with Spikes dedication to herbology. That boy was going to go far. Or if not far... then at least deep. Because getting your hands dirty was half the fun with herbology.

Seren watched curiously as Spike placed some seeds on the desk, but then redirected her attention to the potted plant. Inspecting is as it drew nearer to her, Seren couldn't help but beam. "It's beautiful Spike, thank you." It was definitely beautiful and most certainly innovative. Though her smile faltered slightly as Spike mentioned that red was more fitting now. That may have been so, but she was still a Ravenclaw, she had her school year book to prove it. "Spike... blue is my favourite colour, that's not going to change just because I'm Gryffindors Head of House now..." just like she wasn't about to stop caring about the Ravenclaw's. it was just a title, more responsibility. But enough about that. There was no point in going into details.

"Train it?... you managed to train it?" she repeated, clearly impressed but also curious. "How long did that take to achieve?"

"I hope it'll be be feasible," Spike said with a smile. He was sure the stuff was available in the greenhouses, but setting the experiment up might be a bit more tricky. Hopefully they'd get to discuss that a bit today after he'd shown her his other bits.

As she looked over the Bluebell, Spike beamed. "I'm glad you like it," he answered. "I didn't know if you already had some normal ones, but I think these ones chime really lovely." He saw her smile fade slightly as he mentioned her Gryffie-ness, and looked sheepish. "As long as you still cheer for us Claws," he said wide eyed. Admittedly, he wasn't on the team this year to miss her vocal cheering, but he certainly wanted it again next year. "When we're not playing the Gryffs, I mean," because he wasn't sure the lions would appreciate their Head of House going so visibly against them.

"Course I did," Spike said with a shrug. "Just needed a gentle touch, as is the case with most living creatures." And here, he meant plants and critters. As if agreeing, Matilda stretched out atop Spike's head, and one of her front legs might have been visible momentarily between his curls. "They responded well to my whistling whilst they were young and shooting, so I made sure I did it round them, and occasionally got out my wood flute too." He felt around in his pocket, and pulled out a hand carved instrument that resembled something between a dead branch of wood and a recorder. "They kinda wiggled a bit, sorta excitedly." He wrinkled nose, not sure how to explain how he 'knew' they liked it. Maybe the Professor knew that sort of feeling?

"As they flowered, they started making sounds back. I mean, more than just their usual happy chime, so I kinda focused on helping them with proper tunes. They mimicked to begin with, and then sometimes just came out with them." He gently stroked the leaves of the plant, which chimed happily. These had been far easier to train than getting Honking Daffodils to sing nicely. "The alarm clock was a bit of an accident, admittedly, but it does sound better than the usual screeching thing I have."
